WOODSTOCK, GA - Johnny Chastain, of Murphy, NC, who has been making regular trips to Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA all season, finally found his way to victory lane Saturday night in the Super Late Model feature.

Chastain grabbed the top spot at the drop of the green flag but was given chase by Jason Croft almost at once. By lap 13, Croft had gained on the leader and began a side by side duel for the next ten laps, with Chastain's brother Shawn joining in the mix to make it a three way race for several laps.

By lap 25, lapped traffic had long since become a factor allowing Croft to gain the lead for a single lap before Chastain got back around him the next time, taking the lead for good and going on to score the win. Croft followed in second with Shawn Chastain in third. Doug Stevens held the fourth spot the entire distance while Michael Page moved into fifth in the closing laps.

Oliver Gentry made it to victory lane in the Steel Head Late Model feature for the first time this season at Dixie. Gentry led the way followed by Chris Fennell, Don Jenkins, Mario Gresham and Allen Brewer.

It was the Crate Late Model division's turn for a Championship race, with extra money and protests being lodged. Justin Shipley led every lap with Craig Reece on his bumper in second followed in third by Jeff Dernehl. The top three cars broke away from the rest of the field with Shipley managing to gain a couple of car lengths on Reece in the closing laps. Shipley crossed the line in first with Reece second and Dernehl in third. Matt Larson and Henry Ward completed the top five. Shipley was protested and found legal.

The Super Bomber feature once again saw Andy Morris take the checkers after leader Russell Schell fell out with mechanical issues. Justin Begley was second followed by Terry Vollrath in third, Tom Watson in fourth and Josh Pilcher in fifth.

It took until the wee hours of Sunday morning to determine the winner in the Economy Bomber with the top three cars being protested by the first and third place finishers. After all involved were checked out, all racers were determined to be legal giving John Davis the win, follwed by Jimmy Fetterman, David Burtz, Dan Meadows and Ryan Ray.

Jeremy Millsaps led the way in the Pony Stock to take the win over David Kirkland, with Ronnie Faucett in third, Jake Jones in fourth and Mitchell Pope in fifth.

Randy Ledford drove an exciting race in the Cruiser feature, holding off all challenges from Todd Lankster to take his first win of the season. Lankster settled for second followed by John Sexton in third, Edwin Scott in fourth and Tony Newman in fifth.

Dixie Speedway - Woodstock, GA
Race Results - Aug. 16, 2014

Super Late Models
1. 00 - Johnny Chastain
2. 9 - Jason Croft
3. x15 - Shawn Chastain
4. 77 - Doug Stevens
5. 24x - Michael Page
6. 17 - Ricky Williams
7. 105 - Preston Graves
8. 3 - Luther Jenkins
9. 81 - Aaron Ridley
10. 9 - Cass Fowler
11. 59 - Dale Thurman
12. 24 - Buster Goss
13. 07 - Scot Hall
14. 3 - Dabs Potts
15. 311 - Scott Graves
16. g9 - Eric Granger
DNS: 13 - Paul Hollander

Steel Head Late Models
1. 03 - Oliver Gentry
2. 87 - Chris Fennell
3. 1B - Don Jenkins
4. 21 - Mario Gresham
5. 22 - Michael Brewer
6. 19 - Austin Horton
7. 2J - Bob Johnson
8. 51 - Randy Dillard
9. 23 - Trevor Thompson
10. 37 - Clay Fancher
11. 63 - Rick Jennings
12. 007 - Clifton Moran
13. 18r - Ronnie Haynes
14. 66 - Richard Engleman
15. 34 - Chuck Padgett
16. 12 - Galen Robinson
17. 16 - Eric Hogsed
DNS: 79 - Jimmy Price
DNS: 07 - John Harbin

Super Bombers
1. 40 - Andy Morris
2.
