Police: Gun recovered, Atlanta students in custody

ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta schools officials say two students have been taken into custody after a report of a student carrying a gun on campus prompted a lockdown.<br /> <br /> Atlanta police Sgt. Greg Lyon said Wednesday that no injuries were reported and no shots were fired at Douglass High School in northwest Atlanta.<br /> <br /> Atlanta Public Schools spokesman James Malone says students, faculty and staff were safe while the campus was searched. He says parents were notified of the situation by email and automated calls. Malone says the lockdown was implemented around 11:30 a.m. and was lifted just before 3 p.m.<br /> <br /> Malone says the campus has been searched, the weapon has been recovered and Atlanta police are investigating.<br /> <br /> It's unclear if charges have been filed and additional details weren't immediately available.
