GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board, acting on a recommendation from planning division staff members, has voted to table a request to close a section of Broad Street.

Gainesville Planning Manager Matt Tate confirmed the board's action Wednesday.

The staff had recommended the move in order to give the applicant, Medical Arts Properties, a chance to submit more information about its request. (See earlier story. Link below.)

The section of street is on the west side of town near The Longstreet Clinic.
Tate also confirmed that planning and appeals board chairman Dean Dadisman has resigned because he is moving to South Carolina to be closer to family members.
