LAWRENCEVILLE -- It took nearly three years, but the Gwinnett Braves finally snapped an 11-game home losing streak to the Pawtucket Red Sox with a 4-3 win on Tuesday night at Coolray Field.

After losing a 1-0 lead in the top of the eighth inning, the G-Braves (55-68) scored three runs off knuckleballer Steven Wright in the bottom of the eighth to stun the PawSox. The win was Gwinnett's first at home over Pawtucket since August 13, 2011.

Christian Bethancourt reached on a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth and scored on an RBI double by Sean Kazmar to tie the game at 2-2. Ozzie Martinez put the G-Braves ahead with an RBI single to left, making it 3-2. Gwinnett added insurance on an error by shortstop Deven Marrero, who mishandled a grounder by Edward Salcedo to score Martinez.

The G-Braves came from behind to win after letting a 1-0 lead slip away in the top of the eighth inning. In the frame, Justin Henry singled off reliever Pedro Beato and moved to second on a double by Matt Spring. Mookie Betts plated both runners with a two-run single to left, giving the PawSox a 2-1 lead.

Beato's rough eighth inning spoiled a great start by Cody Martin. The right-hander was brilliant for Gwinnett, tossing 7.0 innings of scoreless baseball. He allowed three hits, walked two and struck out six, but did not factor in the decision.

Beato (W, 2-0) allowed a two-out solo home run to Garin Cecchini in the top of the ninth, but struck out two of the last three batters he faced to end the game. He hurled 2.0 innings, allowing three runs on four hits.

Wright (L, 5-3) suffered the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits in 8.0 innings. He tossed a complete game, but was victimized by Bethancourt, Kazmar and Martinez as they went a combined 5-for-12 with three RBIs.

Elmer Reyes went 3-for-4 with a double, while Bethancourt finished 2-for-4

Betts went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Pawtucket.

The Gwinnett Braves and Pawtucket Red Sox (69-55) play game three of the four-game series on Wednesday night at Coolray Field, first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM. Right-hander Aaron Northcraft (0-6, 6.33) will start for the G-Braves, while the Red Sox will counter with left-hander Edwin Escobar (0-0, 1.50). Tony Schiavone has the play-by-play call at 6:20 PM on WDUN.com, GwinnettBraves.com, Tune-In Radio and the MiLB First Pitch app.

Wednesday night is "Winning Wednesday" sponsored by the Georgia Lottery. If the G-Braves don't win the game, each ticket stub will be good for 50% off an Infield Box or Field Box ticket for any remaining Monday-Thursday regular season home game in 2014.
