Three area schools make state's 'Alert' list

ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Education released the list of 2014 Alert Schools on Tuesday as part of the state's waiver from the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.<br />
<br />
51 schools are on the list statewide.<br />
<br />
Schools in our area making the list include:<br />
<br />
~Hall County: Oakwood Elementary School and West Hall High School<br />
~Habersham County: 9th Grade Academy<br />
<br />
Alert School Definition:<br />
<br />
~A Title I or non-Title I school in the state<br />
~Based on the lowest achievement of the "all students" group in terms of proficiency on the statewide assessments<br />
~Has demonstrated a lack of progress on those assessments over three years in the "all students" group<br />
~May not be identified as a Priority School or Focus School<br />
