RMA's Kim is a 2014 National Merit Scholar

GAINESVILLE - Riverside Military Academy Class of 2014 graduate DoYeun Kim was selected as a 2014 National Merit Scholarship Finalist and has earned the title of Merit Scholar. <br /> <br /> Around 1.5 million juniors from over 22,000 high schools entered the 59th annual National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). <br /> <br /> Kim was one of approximately 16,000 semifinalists chosen in the 2014 program. He competed with other semifinalists for an estimated 8,000 National Merit Scholarships totaling $35 million. Students had to fulfill several requirements, including submission of an essay and presenting a record of very high academic performance, in order to achieve the finalist level of competition and become eligible to earn the Merit Scholar title.
