CUMMING - Forsyth County officials said two objects detected by sonar Wednesday afternoon under the surface of Lake Lanier near Two Mile Creek Park are not the body of a missing 19-year-old man.

Forsyth County Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers said crews first detected the objects around 1 p.m. Wednesday. Divers deployed to the sites later in the day were able to confirm that the objects were wooden debris submerged beneath the lake's surface.

The missing man was identified Wednesday afternoon by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office as Cody Daniel Gibbs.

Shivers said Gibbs has been missing since authorities dispersed an unauthorized party at the park early Tuesday morning. Many of those attending the party ran from authorities, and some jumped into the water.

Gibbs' parents have been working with authorities to find their son, hoping he is elsewhere.

This story will be updated.
