Nicholson races to Ellis Palasini prelim win at Greenville

GREENVILLE, MS - Anthony Nicholson held off Tim Crawley on a green-white-checkered finish Friday night to score his second United Sprint Car Series victory of the year in Friday's Ellis Palsani Black Widow Classic preliminary A-Main at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS.<br /> <br /> The trip to USCS Victory Lane was Nicholson's sixth in his career for the Georgia based series, moving him into a tie for 13th on the all-time series win list. It also makes the Bartlett, TN native the first driver to beat Crawley in competition since June 28 at Poplar Bluff Speedway in Missouri. Nicholson's victory broke a streak of five wins in a row for Crawley.<br /> <br /> "We found a little bit on that first restart (on lap 3). Tim (Crawley) drove underneath me for a second and I sure didn't want to see any more (yellows)," Nicholson said in Victory Lane.
