Suspect missing from NE Georgia Medical Center

GAINESVILLE - A man facing felony charges in Pickens County escaped from Northeast Georgia Medical Center early Monday morning.<br /> <br /> Cpl. Joe Britte with the Gainesville Police says 54-year-old Robert Walter Sheriff escaped around 3:30 a.m.<br /> <br /> Britte described Sheriff as being about 5'9", 175 pounds, with brown/gray hair and brown eyes.<br /> <br /> "Last seen wearing a soiled white t-shirt, possibly a polo shirt, dirty khaki shorts and flip flops," said Britte.<br /> <br /> Police say they don't know where Sheriff is going, but cautioned anyone who finds him to call 911 immediately. "We were told the suspect could be combative if approached by law enforcement," said Britte. "His last known location though, we're not sure." Britte said people should not approach him.
