LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett County police say a man found suffering from a medical emergency on the side of Old Peachtree Road last week has died - and they still don't know his identity.

In a press statement released Friday afternoon, authorities said the man died at Gwinnett Medical Center. He had been transported to the facility by Gwinnett emergency personnel after he was discovered on the side of the road Tuesday, july 29.

Authorities said the man, who was white, appeared to be in his mid to late 50s. He was described as being about 5'9" in height with a weight of 150-160 pounds. He had a distinctive scar on his left arm that appeared to be from a prior surgery. At the time the man was discovered, he was wearing khaki cargo shorts, a white shirt, white Nike Tennis Shoes and a UNC white fitted cap. He was also wearing what appeared to be purple gardening gloves.

Based on keys found in his possession, he might have driven a 1998-2002 Toyota, unknown model or color, according to authorities.

Detectives said they have exhausted all leads as they search for the identity of the man.

Anyone who might have information is asked to call 770-513-5295.

The man's body has been released to the Gwinnett Medical Examiner's Office.
