GAINESVILLE - The state Department of Education Wednesday released school-level Spring 2014 EOCT (End of Course Test) scores - and Sarah Bell, Chief Academic Office for the Gainesville City School System, said the district is pleased with results from both of the city's high schools.

"Woods Mill High School has put a strong blended learning program in place in the content area of English, and the results show us that this program is working," Bell said. "The results demonstrate that this program is having a strong impact on student achievement and is providing students with the tools that they need to be successful."

However, Bell acknowledged that there is still work to be done in Analytic Geometry and Coordinate Algebra, which, she said, are areas for growth across the state.

But, she said, "in the area of Analytic Geometry, we are pleased that Gainesville High School had a higher percentage of students exceeding expectations than the state average. We believe that this illustrates the hard work of teachers and students as we implemented this course for the first time during the 2013-2014 school year."

Bell released the following information on the test results for the two high schools:

Gainesville High School
