Georgia Southern set to begin preseason practice at July 31

STATESBORO -- A number of things will be different for the Georgia Southern Football team in 2014 as the Eagles begin their first season in the Football Bowl Subdivision. <br /> <br /> A new coach in Willie Fritz, new approach to the triple option offense, new mid-deck, new football operations center, new video board, new sound system and new opponents, are all a part of this most anticipated journey.<br /> <br /> The Eagles crossing the bridge over "Beautiful Eagle Creek," will be the same, though their journey to the practice fields from the football operations center now will include an almost daily ride on the yellow buses. Georgia Southern begins preseason camp Thursday, July 31 with practice beginning at 8:15 a.m. for the first of 29 sessions leading up to the 2014 season opener at N.C. State Aug. 30. The first scrimmage will be held Aug. 9 at Paulson Stadium.<br /> <br /> Practice dates and times for the first several days are as follows:<br /> <br /> Thursday, July 31
