GAINESVILLE - Once again, filmmakers are working in north Georgia, and that will mean some traffic delays in Wednesday on two busy roadways in the Gainesville and Jefferson areas.

Teri Pope with the Georgia Department of Transportation said crews will film on State Route 53/Dawsonville Highway over the Chattahoochee River portion of Lake Lanier in Gainesville and also on SR 53/Dawsonville Highway over the Chestatee River portion of Lake Lanier at the Hall-Forsyth County line.

Traffic will be slowed from Lake Ranch Court to Marina Drive near the Jerry Jackson Bridge and from Dogwood Path to Little Hall Road near Boling Bridge.

"Filming will take place at both of those bridges. They're actually...using a helicopter," said Pope.

After filming wraps up at the bridges, movie crews will make their way to Jefferson where traffic will be affected on SR 11/US 129/Jefferson Bypass from Galilee Church Road in Jefferson to Park Street in Arcade.

Pope said filming is slated to begin at 10 a.m. and end no later than 3 p.m. Traffic will not be completely stopped during those hours, but it will be delayed.

Pope said the work will require intermittent traffic stops of between five and eight minutes.

In addition to film crews, law enforcement will be at each site to deter curiosity seekers from trying to watch the filming.

Pope said she could not reveal the name of the film.
