Back-to-school tax-free holidays this week

ATLANTA (AP) Georgians will get a sales tax break this week on certain purchases because of legislation signed in April by the governor.<br /> <br /> The back-to-school tax-free holidays are Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1-2. Gov. Nathan Deal signed the law extending the tax-free holidays for two years on April 14. The law also includes a tax-free holiday for energy-efficient dishwashers, refrigerators and other appliances Oct. 3-5. <br /> <br /> Officials estimate the combined two years of tax breaks will cost the state roughly $145 million.<br /> <br /> Click on the link below for a detailed list of what is exempt and what is not.
