Gainesville man given life for rape, false imprisonment

GAINESVILLE - Johnny Marlow, 64, of Gainesville was convicted today by a Hall County jury for the August 11, 2013, rape and false imprisonment of a 24-year-old homeless woman at his Sun Valley Road residence in Oakwood.<br /> <br /> Senior Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Bagwell prosecuted the case for the state before Superior Court Judge Andrew Fuller.<br /> <br /> Marlow was sentenced as a recividist due to prior convictions of forgery and federal income tax evasion.<br /> <br /> According to District Attorney Lee Darragh, Marlow was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the rape conviction and 10-years to serve concurrent on the charge of false imprisonment.<br />
