Reece Center to spotlight mountain crafts

BLAIRSVILLE - The people of the Appalachians depended on nature and their surroundings for their very survival. Come see demonstrations of various mountain crafts including soap making, pottery making, metal sculpture, woodworking, chair caning, storytelling, spinning and sewing, herbal remedies and wild edibles at the Byron Herbert Reece Farm & Heritage Center on Saturday, July 19 from 11:00-4:00.<br /> <br /> Admission to this program is free but there is a $3.00 admission fee for those 12 and over who wish to tour the venue's exhibits (no admission fee for Reece Society members). For more information contact the Reece Center at 706-745-2034.<br /> <br /> The Reece Farm & Heritage Center is located on U.S. 129, 9 miles south of Blairsville near Vogel State Park.<br />
