USFS fire crews partner with theaters for showing of newest Disney 'planes' film

GAINESVILLE - Moviegoers across North Georgia will have the chance to visit with wildland fire crews from the U.S. Forest Service at select theaters Saturday before and after showings of the new animated Disney movie "Planes: Fire & Rescue." The comedy-adventure film depicts the daring work of the U.S. Forest Service and other wildland firefighting agencies.<br /> <br /> "We're proud of our hard-working wildland fire crews and their efforts to protect communities and the health of the forest," said Mike Davis, Fire Management Officer for the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests. "It's great to see this important work depicted on the big screen for kids to see and understand."<br /> <br /> Fire crews from Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests and partners will be demonstrating the real-life equipment they use in their work. They will share information about fire prevention, as well as howcontrolled burns can make forests healthier and communities safer.
