Commerce police say man in stolen truck takes his own life

COMMERCE - A man died by his own hand Sunday night after being caught driving a stolen truck in Commerce. <br /> <br /> Commerce police said they pulled the truck over, and 64-year-old Glenn Ogden immediately pulled out a gun and shot himself to death in front of deputies.<br /> <br /> Chief John Gaissert said that wasn't the end of the danger for people in the area.<br /> <br /> "When the officer secured the vehicle, they observed what appeared to be a hand grenade in the rear floor board of the pick-up truck," Gaissert said.<br /> <br /> "They (officers) secured the vehicle and the area. We evacuated a 300 foot radius," Gaissert added.<br /> <br /> The University of Georgia Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team was called in and secured the device.<br /> <br /> Ogden was a convicted felon and sex offender, but the invesitgation continues into who stole the truck, and why he committed suicide.
