LEBANON, Tenn. -- Georgia IronDawg Tim "T" Moon of Gainesville made it three wins in four weeks Saturday when he took the equipped (while wearing a special benchpress compression shirt) benchpress title in the "Bash for Cash" put on by the Elite Powerlifting Federation in Lebanon, Tenn.

Moon had established the all-time bench press records for men aged 50-and-over in the 275-pound weight class in both the raw and equipped classes in different meets in successive weeks with presses of 530-plus and 810-plus pounds respectively before taking a week off and then lifting again at a bodyweight this time of around 284 pounds.

He finished with 760 pounds, the heaviest bench of the day, after he failed to lock-out 815.

"I missed 760 on the first try," Moon said, "then I came back and smoked it (but)
I wasted the energy and the lift. I missed 815 on my next lift, but came close. (I) gave 815 lbs. a ride, but not quite."

Some of Moon's IronDawg teammates are expected to lift at the Georgia Games at the Iron Beast Gym in Gainesville Saturday, but Moon does not figure to be one of them.

"Time for a break," he said.

Moon, a 1982 alumnus of Jefferson High, is also a certified powerlifting judge and may be filling that role on Saturday.
Tim "T" Moon competes in the bench press.
