Fire causes some 'significant' smoke damage to S. Hall home

GAINESVILLE - A house on Cannon Creek Trail in the South Hall area was left with some "significant" smoke damage following a fire Tuesday night.<br /> <br /> Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said the blaze occurred about 6:30.<br /> <br /> Cagle said the first units on the scene reported "heavy smoke conditions showing from the attic."<br /> <br /> He said the fire was contained to the attic of the 3,500-square-foot structure located in the 4000 block of Cannon Creek Trail.<br /> <br /> "The upstairs living area did sustain significant smoke damage and both levels sustained water damage."<br /> <br /> Cagle added no one was hurt and that the blaze started on the outside of the house in some trash cans, "extended up the wall and into the attic," and has been ruled "accidental." <br /> <br /> He said early estimates puts the damage at $75,000.
