FLOWERY BRANCH - All lanes of State Route 347, or Friendship Road, have been repaired and are open, according to the Department of Transportation.

Earlier today, a six inch gas line ruptured and gas spewed up through the roadway. The leak caused asphalt damage, and all three layers of asphalt had to be removed and replaced. The road was closed from Spout Springs until SR 211.

The DOT reported this timeline: "The gas main break occurred about 10:15 a.m. The gas was shut off at 11:45 a.m. and the eastbound lanes reopened to traffic at 12:30 p.m. today. One westbound lane opened at 3 p.m. while repair work continued in the center and outside westbound lanes. All lanes opened at 6:35 p.m. after the repairs were completed."
