Pendergrass, Suwanee plants expanding; home builder expands into Hall

Manufacturing plants in Pendergrass and Suwanee have announced expansion plans they say will eventually create 80 jobs. Meanwhile, an Atlanta-based home builder is expanding into Hall County for the first time.<br /> <br /> DEUTZ Corporation, a division of Cologne, Germany-based DEUTZ AG, is expanding its Xchange engine facility in Pendergrass. The company says it will add 30 workers to the plant over the next year while investing approximately one million dollars in engine assembly, testing, and painting equipment. <br /> <br /> The DEUTZ Corporation has had a presence Pendergrass since 2008 with its DEUTZ Xchange Plant which currently employs 40 people. <br /> <br /> SUWANEE PLANT EXPANSION<br /> <br /> In Suwanee, Hussmann, Corp. is adding 50 jobs to its North Gwinnett facility on Crestridge Court.<br /> <br /> Hussman manufactures, sells, installs and services display equipment and refrigeration systems in the retail food industry.<br /> <br /> The company is hosting a Skilled Trades Career Fair today and Wednesday from 9:00-7:00 at Gwinnett Technical College on Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville. It is looking for brazers (pipers), mechanical testers, electrical testers, welders and painters. Resumes may be sent to [email protected] . <br /> <br /> HOME BUILDER EXPANDS INTO HALL CO.<br /> <br /> Smith Douglas Homes is expanding with the addition of its first community in Hall County, Amberleigh. <br /> <br /> The subdivision is on Poplar Springs Road at Hope Road.
