Flooring manufacturer expanding in northwest Ga.

RINGGOLD, Ga. (AP) A carpet and flooring manufacturing company is planning to expand its recycling center in northwest Georgia. <br /> <br /> Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is planning to invest $17 million in a recycling plant in Ringgold that is expected to create 70 new jobs. The plant is expected to process post-consumer recycled materials. <br /> <br /> Shaw's Vice President of Sustainability and Environmental Affairs Paul Murray said in a statement that expanding the company's recycling efforts is aimed at converting what may once have been considered waste into economically viable products. <br /> <br /> Ringgold is about 15 miles southeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
