Bond hearing set for day care worker

GAINESVILLE - A bond hearing is set for Thursday for 55-year-old Eddye Pittmon of Talmo, the woman charged in the case of a toddler who was burned while in her care at Discovering Basics Child Care Center in Clermont.<br /> <br /> Pittmon mad her first court appearance this morning, according to a spokeswoman from the Hall County Magistrate Court.<br /> <br /> As reported last week, Discovering Basics was put on emergency intended closure Friday by the Department of Early Care and Learning. The day care has until remain open without appeal the decision until Tuesday at 4 p.m. If it files an appeal, it will remain open until a judge issues an order.<br /> <br /> Investigators believe a 16 month old boy was burned at the day care early on Friday, June 13, leaving the injured child without proper medical care for roughly eight hours.
