Authorities release details in serious-injury Towns County crash

HIAWASSEE - Towns County authorities Thursday released details in a Tuesday evening motorcycle accident that resulted in serious injuries to a man.<br />

According to the Towns County Sheriff's Office, the wreck happened on Highway 288 near Long Ridge Road around 6:00 p.m.<br />
<br />
They said Larry Clint Laprade of Hayesville, North Carolina, suffered serious injuries when his bike left the road and hit a culvert.<br />
<br />
First responders took Laprade to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated. A Towns County Sheriff's Office news release said Laprade was expected to be released from the hospital this week.<br />
<br />
Authorities said the wreck remained under investigation.<br />
<br />
Laprade is a former resident of Habersham County.
