Federal agency to upgrade Toccoa infrastructure

TOCCOA, Ga. (AP) The U.S. Department of Commerce is investing $1.42 million to upgrade Toccoa's water and sewer system in hopes that the improvements will encourage economic growth. <br /> <br /> Officials said Wednesday that upgrading the infrastructure is expected to serve local manufacturing businesses including an automotive parts company and help the area attract new investment and jobs. <br /> <br /> The investment is being made by the U.S. Economic Development Administration. This branch of the Department of Commerce is responsible for investing in economically distressed areas to create jobs. <br />
