Father charged after death of toddler left in hot vehicle

MARIETTA - Police say a toddler has died after being left in an SUV all day in Cobb County, and his father has now been charged with murder in the incident.<br /> <br /> Cobb County police spokesman Dana Pierce said Justin Ross Harris, 34, was supposed to drop his 22-month-old child off at daycare Wednesday but instead went straight to work. Authorities said Martin was on his way home when he realized the child was still strapped into the car seat. <br /> <br /> Temperatures in the Atlanta area reached the low 90s Wednesday. <br /> <br /> Police said witnesses reported that Harris tied to revive the child but was unsuccessful.<br /> <br /> According to Cobb County police records, Harris is being held without bond on charges of murder and cruelty to children, both felonies.
