Missing Gilmer Co. man found safe

ELLIJAY - According to an update from the Gilmer County Sheriff's Office, the missing Alzheimer's patient who had been missing since Sunday night has been located and is safe.<br /> <br /> Earl "Tater" Townsend was located Wednesday evening. The Sheriff's Office posted this notice on their Facebook page:<br /> <br /> "UPDATE!! Mr. Townsend, "Tater" HAS BEEN LOCATED AND IS SAFE!! Spread the word!! No other details as of yet, will update ASAP when we have more information."<br /> <br /> The page shared an updated from the Times Courier, which stated that Townsend was found in good condition by a motorist on Tail Creek Road. The paper also reports he was able to identify himself; he was taken to the North Georgia Medical Center for evaluation and was reunited with his family. Authorities continue to investigate.<br />
