Athens man arrested in Jackson Co. for outstanding warrants, violating sex offender registry

COMMERCE - Jackson County authorities have arrested an Athens man with outstanding warrants, and later discovered he was an unregistered in the county as a sex offender.<br /> <br /> According to a press release from Sheriff Janis Mangum, Chistopher Lamar Poole was wanted for outstanding probation warrants.They received a tip he was at a residence on Brock Road.<br /> <br /> The 33 year old gave officers a fake name and date of birth, and later he was identified as Poole. He was arrested on his previous outstanding probation warrants and was also charged with giving a false name and date of birth to law enforcement officers.<br /> <br /> Officers discovered that Poole was unregistered as a sex offender in Jackson County once he was incarcerated. He faces an additional charge of violating the sex offender registry. <br /> <br /> Poole is currently incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.<br />
