GSP investigating Banks County wreck that trapped two

COMMERCE - Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville is investigating a serious early-morning wreck in Banks County.<br />
<br />
Two people were trapped as a result of the crash on Georgia Highway 63 about two miles from I-85 in rural Banks County.<br />
<br />
The wreck, paged at 6:40 a.m., was located at Georgia 63 and Bennett Road.<br />
<br />
A Franklin County ambulance was called, as well as all three Banks County ambulances, officials report. <br />
<br />
Medical helicopters from both Gainesville and Anderson, S.C., were requested, but were unable to fly due to fog.<br />
<br />
The first trapped victim was freed around 7:35 a.m., with the second freed around 7:50.<br />
<br />
Victims were taken by ambulance to Athens Regional Medical Center and Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
