Gainesville planning group OKs new subdivision, assisted living facility

GAINESVILLE - Zoning requests for a new subdivision on Gainesville's southside and an assisted living facility at the other end of town have received a "do pass" recommendation from the Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board.<br /> <br /> The new subdivision, consisting of 55 single-family homes, is planned in the Athens Highway/Wilson Drive area.<br /> <br /> The 38-bed assisted living facility is destined for a tract of land at 1351 Park Hill Drive.<br /> <br /> City Planning Manager Matt Tate confirmed the planning board's action.<br /> <br /> The Gainesville City Council will consider the two requests July 1.
