Hall BOE chairman to become president of state school board organization

GAINESVILLE - At the 2014 Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) Summer Conference and Delegate Assembly, Nath Morris, who currently serves as Hall County Board of Education Chairman, will be installed as President of the GSBA Board of Directors. <br /> <br /> "I am looking forward to the opportunity of leading the Georgia School Boards Association," Morris said. " "We always strive for excellence in governance and will offer boards leadership, advocacy, and service in order to provide the children of Georgia an excellent and equitable education to prepare them for college, career and life. I am also excited about our SPARK campaign in which we will ignite our Vision for Public Education, a partnership with teachers, parents, business communities and lawmakers and will talk about the great opportunities and results we are seeing in Georgia Public Schools. Giving students an opportunity to achieve and succeed must be our focus."<br /> <br /> Morris' induction is scheduled to take place during the morning session on Saturday, June 14 at the Hyatt Regency Savannah. He will make remarks to the entire assembly and then introduce the morning's keynote speaker, Governor Nathan Deal. <br /> <br /> First elected to Hall County Board of Education in 2000, Morris is a 14-year veteran of the board. He served as vice-chair from 2003-2010, and in 2011, was elected to his current position as board chairman.
