Body found near Chestnut St. ID'd; now a suspected homicide

GAINESVILLE, GA - The body found in a wooded area near Chestnut Street last week has been identified as 50-year-old Gregory Stinchcomb.<br /> <br /> The Georgia Bureau of Investigation conducted an autopsy, and determined that foul play was involved with his death, which is now being investigated as a homicide.<br /> <br /> Corporal Joe Britte with the Gainesville Police says they haven't determined a cause of death yet, and they're asking anyone with information to come forward.<br /> <br /> Britte said people should call in if they've seen "any suspicious vehicles, suspicious activity, or people in the area that wouldn't be there ordinarily."<br /> <br /> If you have any information, call the Criminal Investigations Division at (770) 534-5254.
