Fosyth Co. Courthouse, Administration Building to reopen Monday

CUMMING - The Forsyth County Courthouse and County Administration Building will both reopen Monday for normal operations after being closed most of Friday following the shooting that occurred at the front of the courthouse.<br /> <br /> According to a notice Sunday afternoon from Robin Rooks, Court Administrator, Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit, grand jurors are to report as planned at 9:00 but no jury trials or juror selection will be held Monday.<br /> <br /> Those who received a juror summons to report the week of June 9 should report on <br /> Tuesday, June 10, no later than 8 a.m. <br /> <br /> The juror summons day shuttle service will be available on Tuesday from the designated area of the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot off of Castleberry <br /> Road. Visit www.forsythclerk.com for updates.<br /> <br /> A heavily-armed 48-year-old Cumming man authorities said was planning a "takeover" of the courthouse was killed in a gun battle with sheriff's deputies near the front steps of the courthouse about 10:00 Friday morning.
