Investigation continues into drug raid that burned baby

ATLANTA - The investigation into a drug raid that critically injured a toddler in Habersham County continues with the help of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and federal agents.<br /> <br /> The GBI and federal agents are investigating statements made by the Habersham County Sheriff's Office early on in the case, according to Fox 5.<br /> <br /> "Any statement that was made, and this is the troubling pattern that we've seen with some of the inconsistencies from this sheriff about who cleared him and who cleared his officers," said family attorney Muwali Davis to Fox 5. "Now that the investigation has at least begun by the GBI... we can begin to have some level of honest transparency."<br /> <br /> State Senator Vincent Fort, Davis and activist Marcus Coleman met with GBI administrators Wednesday afternoon. <br /> <br /> "We were gratified with what we perceived as the assistant directors commitment to making sure that that thorough and objective investigation occurred," Fort told Fox 5.<br /> <br /> The 19 month old was severely burned when a flash-bang grenade landed near him last week. He is at Children's Healthcare at Egleston awaiting surgery in a medically induced coma.<br />
