Boy transported after near drowning in Lanier

The State Department of Natural Resources is investigating a near-drowning in Lake Lanier off Ahaluna Drive. The incident happened Saturday afternoon, according to emergency crews from the Hall County Fire Department. A 12-year-old boy was pulled from the lake around 5:30 p.m. He was breathing but unresponsive at the time he was transported to the hospital. No other details were released.
