Read-Learn-Succeed event scheduled for Lakeshore Mall

GAINESVILLE - As a continuing part of the United Way of Hall County's Read Learn Succeed initiative, Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville will host a Summer Reading event Sunday, June 1.<br /> <br /> The fun and education festivities will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Books-A-Million store, according to Mall Marketing Manager Kirsten Boettcher. <br /> <br /> "Lakeshore Mall is proud to partner with United Way of Hall County and <br /> Books-A-Million on this event. We hope to raise local awareness for Read Learn Succeed," said Boettcher. <br /> <br /> The Read Learn Succeed initiative was launched by United Way of Hall County in 2013 to promote literacy, especially among younger children.<br /> <br /> In addition to a meet and greet with Curious George, activities for children will include story time, face painting, balloon animals and music. The event is free and open to the public but customers are encouraged to bring a new or gently used book for donation. <br /> <br /> Through a voucher system, Books-A-Million is donating 10% of the day's sales to the United Way of Hall County. <br /> <br /> Visit www.ShopLakeshoreMall.com to print the voucher and find out more about the event. <br /> <br />
