BRASELTON -- Play at the Preseason Junior at Château Élan wrapped up Monday with Jacqueline Twitty of Chapin, South Carolina, medaling for the first time in an AJGA tournament. Twitty shot a two-day total of 2-under-par 140 in the Girls Division. In his AJGA debut, Lake Johnson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, shot a tournament total of 5-under-par 137 to medal in the Boys Division.

The Preseason Junior at Château Élan is one of 13 events held as part of the IMG Academy Preseason Series. The IMG Academy Preseason Series is designed specifically for AJGA members who have had limited acceptances into multi-day AJGA events. This series offers these members the opportunity to start building Performance Based Entry status before application deadlines arrive for summer Open and Junior All-Star series events.

Twitty was the only female competitor to conclude play under par. The University of Louisville verbal commit notched three birdies during the final round to finish atop the Girls Division. The junior also took home the Bridgestone and Scotty Cameron Award for carding the low first and final round scores. Twitty was proud of her play throughout the tournament.

"Coming out here and this being my first winning event, it's really exciting to know that I can do that and I had a great time," Twitty said. "I really haven't had any other big wins. I've had a couple of high school wins, but this one was definitely one I'm going to remember."

Duluth, Georgia, native Christyn Carr finished the tournament in second at 1-over-par 143. AJGA newcomer Chandler Rosholt of Cedar Park, Texas, shot 4-over-par 146 to finish in third.

In the Boys Division, Johnson notched six birdies to drop eight strokes during the final round to advance in the standings from fifth to first. The 17-year-old was the only competitor in the Boys Division to shoot under par in both rounds of the tournament. Medaling in his first AJGA event gave Johnson confidence heading into the summer season.

"It feels good," Johnson said. "I mean, I really tried to play on this tour, and now that I'm finally getting to, it's nice to know that I can compete."

Andrew Bernard of Charlotte, North Carolina, finished in second at 2-under-par 140. Bernard also took home the Scotty Cameron Award for shooting a final-round score of a 5-under-par 66. The 66 was also the lowest score shot in the tournament. Connor Coffee of Peachtree City, Georgia, shot even par during the tournament to finish third. First-round leader Cameron Yeary of Knoxville, Tennessee, finished in fourth at 1-over-par 143. Rounding out the boys top five were Andrew Lafferty of Milton, Georgia, Larken Whittemore of Lafayette, Tennessee, and Ryan Joiner of Roswell, Georgia, who finished the tournament 2-over-par 145 and tied for fifth.
Chandler Rosholt of Cedar Park, Texas eyes a shot during Sunday's round.
