LULA - Hall County emergency crews said a man was taken to the hospital just before noon Monday when he fell from a boat into Lake Lanier.

According to a press statement from Deputy EMA Director Scott Cagle, the man and his father were fishing in the lake near Lula Park when he suffered some type of cardiac event and fell into the water. The father was able to retrieve him from the lake and start CPR.

Cagle said the man did not have a pulse when they arrived, but EMTs revived him and he was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
