No major polling problems reported in Ga. primary

ATLANTA (AP) The Georgia Secretary of State's office is reporting a mostly smooth primary voting process thus far.

Spokesman Jared Thomas says there weren't reports of major polling malfunctions during Tuesday's primary.

In Atlanta, some voters were instructed to visit Georgia Tech's campus instead of a local church to vote. Some voters told WSB-TV they were confused by the venue change. Fulton County elections spokeswoman, April Majors, says signs were posted at the church before the polls opened directing voters to the school's campus.

The Dalton Daily Citizen also reported that voters were given an extra 30 minutes at two Whitfield County precincts because of a problem with electronic ballots that was corrected within about half an hour. County registrar Mary Hammontree says the glitch didn't result in any lost votes.
