Commissioners received a recommendation on a redesign bid for just under $78,000 at their Monday afternoon work session. Hall County Purchasing Manager Tim Sims told commissioners the bid from Civic Plus in Manhattan, Kansas came in well below the $100,000 budgeted for the project.
Sims said while the website has been tweaked from time to time, it has been more than a decade since it was completely revamped.
"We've had some enhancement, but not a redesign of the webpage," aid Sims. "What we're trying to do is make the [website] more robust for the citizens, so that they'll be able to come online and do their business without having to come in to the county offices."
Sims said one new feature of the site would allow online registration for Hall County Parks and Recreation teams, something that will save county resources.
Sims said Civic Plus specializes in websites for governments entities and has designed websites for a numbers of counties in Georgia, including Glynn County, Lowndes County and Athens-Clarke County.
