Fire reported at dam on edge of northwest Ga. lake

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (AP) Fire officials are responding to a blaze at a power station at a dam in northwestern Georgia.

Footage from local television stations showed the fire at the dam on the edge of Lake Allatoona Monday afternoon sending plumes of black smoke into the air.

The cause of the fire and details on whether any injuries were reported weren't immediately available. A phone call and email to the Army Corps of Engineers, which manages the property, was not immediately returned.
