Hall Co. hosting budget 'open house' May 27

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Government will hold an open house on the parameters of a draft budget for fiscal year 2015 from 5:30-7:00 Tuesday, May 27.

It will be held in the Commission Meeting Room at the county government center.

A "drop in" format will be used. The public is invited visit with representatives of individual county departments and discuss their respective budgets. However, there will be a formal presentation at 6:15 explaining the overall county budget and approval process.

This is the third year in a row that Hall County has conducted such a budget information session.

"We are honored to provide the citizens of Hall County with a continued level of transparency in the budget process, and we hope this type of a forum will provide them with an opportunity for more interaction with County departments and officials. In addition, we hope this will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about each department's budget and the services they provide," said Hall County Administrator Randy Knighton.

Question/comment forms will be available at the open house and online at www.hallcounty.org/budget. Draft budget details will be available May 28 at www.hallcounty.org/budget or in the Finance Department from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday at the Hall County Government Center.

The Hall County Board of Commissioners must approve a budget by June 30, as the new fiscal year begins July 1.
