According to a release from the sheriff's office, the local effort in Forsyth County also included the Drug Enforcement Administration with the assistance of CVS Pharmacy.

The sheriff's office also accepts prescription medication for disposal in a drug locker at its South Precinct at 2985 Ronald Reagan Boulevard. The locker can be used Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The 8th National Prescription Take Back Initiative was on April 26.
