Butterflies, rubber ducks, mountain laurel - sure signs of spring in NE Ga.

Butterflies, rubber ducks and mountain laurel - and the festivals that go with them - are sure signs of spring in northeast Georgia, and all are returning this weekend.

It all begins Saturday with the annual Mountain Laurel Festival in Clarkesville and the Rubber Duck Derby at the rowing venue on Lake Lanier in Gainesville.

Sunday, it's the butterflies turn.

The annual Butterfly Release, sponsored by Friends of Gainesville Parks & Greenways, will be held at Wilshire Trails Park.
