North Hall duo signs to play collegiate baseball

GAINESVILLE -- After leading North Hall baseball through a stellar season and Class AAA playoff appearance, seniors Stephen Murray and McCoy Savage lengthened their baseball playing careers by each signing to play collegiate baseball.

Murray, the Trojans' catcher, will play for Covenant College in Lookout Mountain.

Savage, meanwhile, who played in the outfield, signed to play with Toccoa Falls College.

Each standout played a key role in leading North Hall to the No. 2 seed from Region 7-AAA and a second round state appearance despite North Hall graduating a number of seniors -- including its entire starting pitching rotation -- from its 2013 Class AAA runner-up squad.
