The white male entered the store between 8:20 and 8:30 p.m. brandishing a handgun, according to Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Robin Regan.
"He told the clerk working that he was desperate and he didn't want any ones or fives," said Regan. "The suspect left the store and walked southbound on Dahlonega Highway."
Regan said the suspect is a white male, about 5'7" to 5'10" with facial hair on his chin. He said the suspect was wearing sunglasses and blue jeans and therefore, it was difficult to determine his age.
Also, the suspect was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, but Regan said witnesses saw the man outside the store and saw something that might help identify him.
"People in the parking lot had seen him with his sleeves rolled up and said that he had tattoos that looked 'old and bad'," said Regan.
Investigators did not say how much money the suspect took with him.
No one was hurt during the hold-up.
