The Outstanding International Alumnus Award was established in 2006 to honor alumni who were non-U.S. citizens during their attendance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and who have attained national/international prominence through their efforts in education, sciences, technology, agriculture, the arts, business, humanities, government or other world endeavors.
Yamala earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from Andhra University in India and his master's degree in community and regional planning from University of Nebraska
