Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said the first fire happened Sunday at 9:53 p.m. at a double wide mobile home in the 2400 block of Leland Road. Crews said the structure was about 50% involved in flames when they arrived and it was a total loss.
The man who lived in the home told investigators he was asleep but was awakened by a smoke alarm, so he was able to get out of the home without injury.
The origin of the fire is unknown at this time.
A few hours later at 1:33 a.m. Monday, fire crews answered a 911 call to the 3300 block of Cagle Road and found a single wide mobile home fully involved in fire.
The owner of the mobile home told investigators he had gone to the house Saturday to collect a rent payment and found the tenants had vacated the home, leaving no belongings behind.
Cagle said because the mobile home was vacant, the fire is considered suspicious in nature.
