The awards were made through the 2014 Community HOME Investment Program.
"Investing in safe, affordable housing not only benefits our citizens, but it is also absolutely critical to building the workforce housing component of community infrastructure," said DCA Commissioner Gretchen Corbin. "These awards will not only benefit the communities, they'll help our citizens have better quality housing and add economic value to the state."
CHIP provides funds to help local governments, nonprofit organizations and public housing authorities provide affordable housing in their communities. Funds may be used to provide eligible, low- and moderate income households with down payment assistance, or to assist with homeowner rehabilitation. The goal of the program is to expand the supply of, and access to, safe and affordable housing in Georgia's communities.
